Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, contact information, employment and financial history, government-issued identification, and any additional information necessary to evaluate a rental application or respond to a tour request. When you visit our website we also collect standard server logs and use cookies to remember your saved searches and improve site performance.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to evaluate rental applications, communicate with you about properties and services, process rent payments and maintenance requests, comply with applicable North Carolina and federal law (including NC GS 42 landlord-tenant requirements and FCRA-compliant screening), and improve our services. We do not sell personal information.
How we share information
We share information with screening service providers, with our trades partners (Reems Creek Plumbing, Foothills Electric, Blue Ridge HVAC) for work-order coordination, with property owners when you apply to one of their listings, with our payment processor for rent collection, and as required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties for their marketing.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to the information we hold about you, request corrections, and request deletion subject to legal retention requirements (typically seven years for application and tenancy records). To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@hearthandhollow.example.
